A 15-Minute Rest Practice You Can Do at Home
- Natasha Whelan
- Anxiety/Stress Relief, At home practice, rest and recovery , Guided rest
This week I was speaking with a friend, and she made a simple request — a short restorative practice she could do during the day or in the evening, using things she already has at home.
So I recorded one.
These kinds of rest practices sit at the centre of how I work. Not something to wait for at the end of the day, but small pauses that can be part of your routine.
A way to step out of the constant doing, even briefly.
About the Practice
This is a simple, accessible rest practice you can do at home.
Nothing complicated. No special equipment.
Just a few everyday items and a bit of space to lie down.
Length:
15 minutes
You will need:
2 blankets or towels
1 small hand towel or washcloth
1 pillow
Somewhere comfortable to lie down
Optional:
Relaxing music
The Practice
You can use this at any point in the day — when things feel busy, when your body is asking for a pause, or in the evening as a way to wind down.
A Small Invitation
If you try it, you’re welcome to let me know how it feels.
You can also send through requests for future practices — something specific your body needs, or a way you’d like to pause during the day.
I’ll use these to shape future recordings.
