The Art of Rest

Workshop

Rest is often treated as something passive or reserved for the end of the day. In this workshop, you’ll explore rest as something you can practise and return to in different ways.

Across the session, we’ll move between simple movement, guided yoga nidra, and therapeutic art. Each approach offers a different entry point — physical, mental, and creative — so you can begin to notice what helps your system settle and what feels restorative for you.

You’ll be introduced to yoga nidra as a form of guided rest that supports deeper states of relaxation, without needing to “do” anything. Through movement, you’ll explore how slowing down and adjusting pace can influence how you feel. The creative practices offer a non-verbal way to reflect and stay with your experience, without needing to analyse or explain it.

This is a practical, exploratory session. You’re not being asked to switch off or clear your mind. Instead, you’ll be guided to notice, respond, and build a clearer sense of what rest looks like in your own body.

There will be time to pause between practices, and you’re free to step back or rest at any point.

You may leave with:

  • A clearer understanding of what rest is (beyond sleep)

  • An experience of yoga nidra and how to use it

  • Simple ways to support rest through movement and awareness

  • Creative tools to check in and reset during the day

No experience is needed. All practices are simple and adaptable.
